The Toronto Motorcycle Film Festival will announce its full lineup in August, but for a teaser, the organizers have listed three of this year’s films already.
First up, organizers say this year’s festival will screen Oil in the Blood, a “documentary feature film on the contemporary custom motorcycle culture,” according to its website. Gareth Maxwell Roberts directed the film, and it’s produced by Lucy Selwood. This film has garnered plenty of praise already, and fans have been asking for it, say TMFF organizers. Looks like those fans will get their chance to see it during the Oct. 3-6 festival!
The festival’s organizers also confirmed WAYNE, a documentary detailing the life and career of roadracer Wayne Gardner will play at the festival. And, the festival will see the world premiere of The Distinguished Gentleman. As per the TMFF’s press release, “The Distinguished Gentleman is the story of Vincent Nicolai, one of the top five DGR fundraisers, worldwide. Earlier this year, Vincent’s garage caught on fire with him in it causing burns to over 40% of his body and nearly ending his life. This film is about the power of community in the face of hardship … Director, JP Kathoefer, the production team, and Vincent will be riding up from NYC to join us. Ahead of the festival, the festival’s organizers are hosting an outdoor movie night on August 10, at the final Canadian Superbike doubleheader of the season (at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park). There’s also a greatest hits night coming up at the recently-renovated Playhouse Cinema in Hamilton. On Thursday, August 22, organizers will be hosting a Best of TMFF movie night at the the Playhouse, with tickets going on sale July 25. We’d presume a full lineup of that night’s films will be announced at that time.
