One week left to register for the Mad Bastard Scooter Rally!

Scooterman's ride attracted plenty of viewers on Friday night.

Thinking of running your step-through in the 2019 Mad Bastard Scooter Rally? Then you’d better hurry up and pay up, because registration closes this Friday.

Remember, this is the last time we’ll see the MBSR run in Canada; organizers BECO Motors are no longer importing Kymco scooters into Canada, and since Kymco was the title sponsor, the event no longer has the financial backing it needs.

As per the rally’s website earlier this year: “The cost of the rally and lack of sponsorship makes it an incredibly costly event and much (scratch that) ALL of the time that we put into the event is completely voluntary.  Putting together this rally is a two year affair, and though it is a labour of love, we have made the difficult decision to forego planning any future rallies at this time.”

What do you get, if you register? You get the chance to take your scooter on a 24-hour, 600-km (approximately) ride through rural Ontario, while dressed in a crazed costume (costume is optional, but expect mockery if you don’t dress up! What are you? Some kind of square?). Scooters from 49 cc all the way to full-sized maxi-scoots are welcome, with small-capacity motorcycles taken on a case-by-case basis.

Riding a smaller scooter gets you more points, and the more wacky your costume is, then you’ll earn even more points. Don’t forget to decorate your scooter, too!

For registration, visit the MBSR’s site here, and you can see CMG’s history (we actually started the rally) here.
