Wasaga Beach Motorcycle Rally will not run in 2019

The Wasaga Beach Motorcycle Rally, one of the newer large-scale bike events in Ontario, has been canceled for 2019.

The rally was called off after Wasaga Beach’s town council met earlier this month to debate the event’s future. The current rally organizer was anticipating difficulty running the event this summer, as he’s also coordinating other events. Town council debated buying the rights to the event and running it themselves. That idea was shot down, and the organizer will be postponing the rally until a return in 2020.

The Wasaga Beach Motorcycle Rally has been running since 2015, attracting roughly 10,000 motorcycles a year (last year, organizers said about 50,000 people would attend the rally overall). Due to its strategic location on Georgian Bay, fairly close to the GTA, it quickly attracted many riders, and some of those motorcyclists are very disappointed in the rally’s closure this year. To keep on top of developments and see plans for next year, you can check in at the rally’s Facebook page.
