Husqvarna is offering semi-automatic clutch upgrades for Vitpilen 401 and Svartpilen 401 motorcycles.
The semi-auto clutch is courtesy of a Rekluse Radius X Centrifugal Clutch Kit. If you’ve ridden a Honda three-wheeler ATC from the early ’80s, you’re probably familiar with some variation of this setup. On the Husky’s Rekluse setup, the rider still has to shift gears using the handlebar lever, so why go to the trouble of installing the kit?
According to Husky’s press release, “Installing this progressive clutch kit eliminates the chance for engine stalling when starting or braking hard. Offering an even more accessible and enjoyable experience for riders of all levels, the automatic clutch allows for easy starting and stopping without the need to use the clutch lever.”
So, starts and stops are easier, and the bike is supposed to be much easier to ride in stop-and-go traffic.
There’s no price tag on the Rekluse clutch on Husqvarna’s website, but installation, at least, should be affordable, as Rekluse’s website says it’s as simple as a clutch pack swap. Husqvarna’s press release follows below:

The ultimate city bike. Nimble and 0 to 100 km/h hour in 5 or so seconds all day long. The rekluse makes that much better.
it looks sweet. my only complaint is the bike is a bit tall. i got to try the svartpilen 401 and it was super fun!
The Svartpilen would be a little easier on the neck and wrists. Both cool bikes.
