Check out these Canadian motorcycle rallies this summer

Adventure bikes make up the majority of Dust to Dawson attendees, but cruisers, sportbikes and tourers show up as well.

Dust to Dawson

Dawson City, Yukon Territory, June 20-21

The Dust to Dawson Ride (not a rally, the website loudly proclaims!) is one of those cliched bucket-list adventures that many people decide they must go on someday, just to say they did — some of them have been going ever since the rally started in 1992.

Each year, hundreds of riders converge on Dawson City in the Yukon, on all manner of motorcycles, to partake in the fun. There’s a poker run that takes you through the old 1898 goldfields, some biker games, and a general good time. As Dawson City is where the Top of the World/Taylor Highways, North Klondike Highway and the Dempster Highways all meet, there’s all sorts of great riding in the area, and it’s really quite a trip just getting to the event.

While you’d think this would be an adventure bike-only event, you’d be wrong — cruisers, touring bikes, sportbikes, everything shows up, although the focus is definitely on the ADV scene. Even if you’re not on a GS, though, we’re saying you’re still pretty adventurous if you’re willing to try the Sour Toe Cocktail.

  1. There *IS* a Horizons Unlimited Mountain Madness (HUMM) in Canada (BC) this year!! HUMM Monashees, July 19-21, 2019, also in Nakusp, BC… the weekend after the Canwest Travellers Meeting, so may as well make a family holiday of it. The dual sport and off-road riding in the area is stellar.
