Canadian pricing announced for KTM 790 Adventure, 790 Duke

KTM North America has announced 2019 Canadian MSRPs for its new 790 Duke, 790 Adventure and 790 Adventure R models.

The 790 Duke came to North America late in 2018. The 790 Adventure was introduced in production form around the same time (during the EICMA show). It first appeared in spy shots in October 2017, then showed up as a concept that year on the show circuit. KTM’s pricing for 2019 confirms both the 790 Adventure and the 790 Adventure R (with high-spec components) are coming to Canada.

For 2019, the KTM 790 Duke will cost you $11,499 plus fees (freight, PDI, etc.). That price is valid for either paint scheme, black or orange. The KTM 790 Adventure has a $13,499 MSRP for either the white or orange version of the bike. The KTM 790 Adventure R will sell for $14,599.

For your money, you’re getting one of the most eagerly anticipated platforms of the past few years, with a liquid-cooled 799 cc parallel twin engine making 105 hp and 63.4 lb-ft of torque. The Duke has cornering ABS, traction control, launch control, TFT dash, WP forks, an adjustable rear shock and steering damper, a lot of gadgetry for the asking price.

The Adventure models both have WP suspension as well. The base model has non-adjustable forks and preload-adjustable rear shock, with 200 mm of travel. The Adventure R has adjustable XPLOR upside-down forks, and the rear shock is adjustable. Suspension travel is 240 mm. The 20-litre fuel tank is supposed to give 450 km of range. There’s traction control, and three engine power modes. A quickshifter is optional. The standard Adventure model has a taller windshield for touring, while the R model has a shorter windshield for offroad safety.

  1. The price is right! Very interested in this bike. I’ll take a look at it at the next show but this is looking great so far. However I was told spring availability will be limited …

  2. Its a bike I would be interested in but I would like to see the new 690s price as well. When I look at that upper fairing though, I could see it producing a lot of turbulence.

  3. I’m interested to see sales numbers between the 690 and 790, and 790 and 1090.
The pricing is close between either two. I can’t see many going for the 690 over the 790 at this point. (Yes, I understand the differences between the two bikes).
Now bring on the T7 and midweight KLR replacement!
