Metzeler is attempting to improve its cruiser tire offerings by introducing a new line of rubber for 2019.
The Cruisetec line of tires is built around a new dual-compound design, aimed at combining both straight-line longevity and cornering ability. Braking is supposed to be improved as well, and transition from lean angles to straight lines is also said to be better. There’s also a new tread pattern aimed at providing better wet weather performance.
Metzeler also says Cruisetec tires are designed to be optimized for usage with current electronic safety features (ABS, traction control, etc.).
The Roadtec line will be available in 11 front tire sizes and 15 rear sizes, ranging from 16-inch to 21-inch sizing in front and 16-inch to 18-inch in rear.
The Cruisetec line is now Metzeler’s top product for cruisers, followed by the Marathon 888 line (introduced back in 2013), and the ME 77 Perfect. We haven’t seen any Canadian pricing for the Cruisetec line at this point.
