Vancouver gets new moto-coffee hangout

Combined coffee shops and motorcycle hangouts are big parts of bike culture in other countries (see also: See See Motorcycles, in Portland, Oregon). Here in Canada, they’ve been less of a feature of the motorcycle scene, but a new Vancouver hangout might be about to change that.

Daily Hive reports Jammer Cafe Motors, a combined coffee shop, restaurant, microbrewery and workshop has opened at 350 West Eighth Avenue. According to owner Ryan Valade, Jammer Cafe is “a restaurant that allows the clientele to watch the actual full repairs and restoration process from the comfort of their seats.” The restaurant actually has see-through walls that look out on the garage section, so you can see the wrenchers while you dine (find a menu here).

Now, despite having a menu that offers things like a “Biker Breakfast,” we’d guess this isn’t your usual budget-minded motorcycle dive. But hey, it sounds like a cool place to check out at least once, especially since you can even rent shop space there. For space-limited Vancouver motorcyclists, that’s especially good news.

  1. I’d like to mention Steeltown Garage in Hamilton, ON. Great moto cafe that opened a little over a year ago run by a fantastic husband & wife. My go to on the weekends. Think there might of been mention of it somewhere in these pages a while back. Cheers.
