The updated-for-2019 Ducati Scrambler Icon now has a family.
Today at Intermot, Ducati unveiled the updated versions of the Scrambler Full Throttle, Scrambler Café Racer and Scrambler Desert Sled. Visually, they’re similar to the outgoing 2018 models, and like the Scrambler Icon, they still have the same air-cooled 803 cc L-twin engine (73 hp at 8,250 rpm, and 49 lb-ft of torque at 5,750 rpm).
But just as the Scrambler Icon got cornering ABS, LED lights, revised exhausts, Bluetooth-enabled onboard entertainment system and revised hydraulic clutch, so do these bikes, along with individual twists.
The Cafe Racer is set up just like it sounds—as a factory cafe bike. It’s sportier than the standard model, with 17-inch wheels (Pirello Diablo Rosso III tires), new seat and aluminum handlebar. Wet weight is 196 kg, fuel capacity is 13.5 litres.
The Full Throttle is set up like a factory street tracker, with sporty bodywork and dual exhaust, low-mount handlebar and chopped front fender. It has a two-tone paint job, revised bodywork and cast aluminum wheels, and a new seat. Wet weight is 189 kg.
The Desert Sled is the offroadish version of the Scrambler, with higher fenders, mesh headlight guard, skid plate and most importantly, adjustable Kayaba suspension. There’s also an off-road riding mode that disengages ABS, to allow more antics offroad. The frame is also beefed up for beating around in the bush. There’s a 19-inch spoked rim up front and a 17-inch rim in rear, shod with Pirelli Scorpion Rally ST tires. Wet weight is 209 kg.
