Updated Ducati Scrambler Icon packs cornering ABS

As promised, Ducati unveiled the latest entry in its Scrambler lineup today, an updated Scrambler Icon model.

While some enthusiasts were hoping for an 1100 version of the Desert Sled model, the revised Icon is just as interesting (and doesn’t rule out the possibility of a Desert Sled 1100 later this fall). The Icon is still powered by the same air-cooled 803 cc V-twin as before, but the exhaust is redesigned.  The new bike also has cornering ABS (courtesy of Bosch), LED lighting and fully digital gauges. The instrument display now includes a fuel gauge and a gear indicator.

The bike’s styling is also tweaked; there’s a new seat (more comfortable, the Italians promise us), new paint options (tangerine orange and yellow) and new handlebars.

The suspension is revised for more comfort, says Ducati, but we have not heard of any changes in ground clearance or suspension travel.

Ducati also included the same Bluetooth-connected Ducati Media System that was previously built into the Multistrada adventure tourer. This allows riders to connect their smartphones to the bike’s computer to allow control over music and communication functions while riding.
