Registration opens for 2018 Fundy Adventure Rally

This gravel road through a coastal marsh was an unexpected treat to find on the route.

It might be mid-winter, but it’s time to start thinking about plans for next summer, because registration has opened for the 2018 Fundy Adventure Rally.

At this point, registration is only open for team captains. However, you can’t ride the full FAR course unless you’re on a team, so this is the most important entry to think about! Several riders have already registered, says Rallymaster Eric Russell, so while you obviously have some time to think about your plans and ask the boss for vacation (the rally runs August 16-19 next year), you don’t want to wait too long—there is limited space, as always. And, as usual, if you want a cabin or room, you’d best be looking at booking those early as well.

As usual, this year’s rally will be a weekend-long event, with demo rides, self-guided tours, rider training and other adventurous activities on Thursday and Friday. On Saturday, riders will take on the 500-km rally route, tackling a combination of sections with varying difficulty (riders can also take the 250-km scenic Scavenger route, like Zac did last summer). Sunday has an awards banquet, and then everyone packs up and rides home.

You can see past coverage of the Fundy rally here. If you can’t decide whether or not to attend, those stories should seal the deal either way! The official Fundy Adventure Rally registration page is here, and has full details on costs.
