Recall #:Â 2017528
Models Involved:Â 2017 Indian Chief Classic, Chief Dark Horse, Chief Vintage, Chieftain, Chieftain Classic, Chieftain Dark Horse, Springfield
Number of Vehicles:Â 224
Problem: Certain motorcycles equipped with halogen headlights may not comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CVMSS) 108 – Lighting System and Retroreflective Devices. The affected motorcycles may have inadvertently had E4 (European) halogen headlight assemblies installed, and as a result would not meet the photometric requirements of the standard.
Correction: Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the headlight with a compliant one.
This is no big deal- it has to do with left/right side of the road driving requirements.
The lamps installed were meant to be used in countries where ‘left side of the road’ is practiced.
Many of the recalls are no big deal.
