The Ducati 959 Panigale Corse takes an existing package and refines it for sportier usage.
Of course, the 959 has already been on the market a while. The Corse version adds bits that track-day users will want: Ohlins suspension (adjustable 43 mm NIX30 forks and TTX36 shock), Ohlins steering damper, servo-assisted slipper clutch, lithium-ion battery, titanium exhaust by Akrapovic, and Euro4 emissions approval.
The standard 959 has Showa shocks up front and a Sachs in back.
Curb weight is down to 197.5 kg, 2.5 kg lighter than the standard 959 Panigale model, thanks to that lighter battery and exhaust. But despite the new exhaust, max hp is now rated at 150 hp; the previous version was rated at 157 hp. Max torque is down as well, from 79 lb-ft to 75 lb-ft. Those drops are likely due to tuning changes required by Euro4 emissions regulations.
Just like the original 959 model, the new Corse edition will have quick-shift, traction control, ride-by-wire throttle, engine brake control, and riding modes (race, sport, wet).
Ducati hasn’t said when the Panigale 959 Corse is coming to Canada, or how much it will cost when it gets here.
