Jack Miller injures leg, will miss Motegi

MotoGP rider Jack Miller has injured his leg and will miss the Motegi MotoGP round.

Miller fractured his right tibia while riding a trials bike for training last weekend; he put his foot down to stop a low-speed crash and ended up breaking his leg. Doctors put a plate and eight screws in his leg on Saturday, and now Miller (who rides a satellite Honda for Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS) is training for his return to racing. He’s supposed to be aiming to get back on the track at the Phillip Island round in two weeks.

If two weeks sounds like a very optimistic return time for a broken leg, remember Yamaha’s Valentino Rossi has set the bar high this year, returning for a fifth-place finish at Misano only a month after breaking his leg in three places (also the result an off-road training accident).
