How fast can your 50 go?
For Fabio Fazi, the answer is 114.83 km/h, as measured at Bonneville. Fazi was competing in the 1/A2/B/50cc category at the land speed races on the world-famous land speed races on the salt flats, and ran that speed in the flying kilometre. In the flying mile, he ran 114.263 km/h. Both those speeds are new FIM world records.
Fazi is racing with the Diablo Rosso scooter team; the team is also hoping to break the 85 cc and 100 cc speed records at Bonneville, with Mauro Sanchini behind the bars of those scooters.
