Rossi clears medical tests for Mugello

Earlier today, we told you Valentino Rossi was still suffering the effect of a training crash last week, and his participation at this weekend’s Mugello GP was in doubt.

Good news—Rossi has cleared his medical exam today; doctors decided his kidney and liver were a bit beat up, but there was nothing to stop him from racing.

So, Rossi’s back on track (no pun intended) for a recovery, with a weekend in front of his fans at his home track in Italy. After crashing out of his last GP race (May 21, at Le Mans), he’s got some catching up to do if he wants to get back at the front of the pack. He’s currently in third in the standings, and he needs every point if he hopes to win the title this year.
