Spied! Husqvarna Svartpilen 701

The Husqvarna Svartpilen 701 prototype that appeared on the show circuit last fall has been spotted undergoing street testing.

There are photos of the bike in a few places online; you can see them here at Motorcyclist. It seems the new machine is sort of a neo-retro scrambler, mixing old styling with new in the same way the other Svartpilen and Vitpilen Husqvarna models do, except this model is powered by the KTM 690-derived single cylinder motor.

The photos were taken by BMH Images; find high-resolution photos of the spied machine at Motorcyclist.

  1. When are we going to see the Vitpilen model range in Canadian dealer showrooms? When I call dealers to inquire, they have no idea as to when. As well, there is no contact info for Husqvarna either in Canada or in Sweden, just an address to send a paper letter.

  2. I wonder if that is the longest license plate holder in the industry. The 401 handles it a more gracefully. I wonder if there is any provision for some kind of luggage in the back, or if it would have to be a tank bag only.
