Dawn 2 Dusk rally registration open

I knew about the beautiful roads on the Advocate Harbour run, but the Dawn 2 Dusk gave me a reason to ride there, with no excuses.

Registration is open now for the 2017 Dawn 2 Dusk rally.

In case you haven’t seen previous coverage of the Dawn 2 Dusk, this rally is aimed at small-displacement motorcycles (500 cc and under). While many riders think of these machines as beginner bikes or commuter motorcycles, good for little else besides putting around town or riding the back roads to work, the D2D aims to change that thinking.

The rally takes riders on a 600-km ride through back roads (with optional gravel section for dual sport riders) over 12 hours. This year, instead of late summer or early fall, the ride runs on June 17.

CMG’s Rob Harris and Zac Kurylyk originally developed the D2D rally in Atlantic Canada, where it ran in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014. Now, Eric Russell at Canada Moto Rallies has taken over and is running this year’s event through Ontario, starting at Honda Canada’s head office. This year’s rally will cost $99 to attend; some of that covers CMR’s organizational expenses, but you also get a rally T-shirt and a spot at the rally’s presentation banquet with your registration.

To register, visit Eventbrite and follow instructions from there. See you in June!
