Canadian BMW Urban G/S pricing revealed

While we’re tooling around on the R NineT Scrambler for the summer, BMW has announced pricing for its other retro duallie, the Urban G/S.

The Urban G/S was first spotted in concept form at the 2016 Wheels and Waves festival, and was announced for production last fall. It’s a clever idea, playing off BMW’s Dakar-winning history, bringing an air of authenticity to the whole retro-themed R NineT lineup.

It’s built on the same oil/air-cooled flat twin as the rest of those models, and will carry an $14,150 MSRP in Canada this year.

That’s less than the Scrambler ($14,250), same as the R NineT Racer, more than the R NineT Pure ($12,950) and less than the standard model R NineT, which has pricier suspension and other bits bringing the price tag to $16,850. It’s also more than anything in the Ducati Scrambler lineup, even the specialized off-road Desert Sled. The Moto Guzzi Stornello scrambler also comes in at a lower price tag.
