The Dawn 2 Dusk Rally has been confirmed for a 2017 return, running in Ontario, presented by Canada Moto Rallies.

The Dawn 2 Dusk originally started in 2011 as a rally for motorcycles 250 cc and under. In its first year, it ran through New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and PEI. In the following years, routes criss-crossed the Maritimes, and the rules changed slightly to allow bigger bikes to join the fun. You can read about other D2D adventures here, here and here.

This year, the rally is moving from its east coast roots, starting at Honda Canada’s head office in Markham, Ontario, on June 17. This year, D2D riders are running a 600-km route through the back roads over the day. Riders will head out between 6 and 7 AM, returning by 8 PM. Bikes between 125 cc and 500 cc are allowed to enter, and scooters are also welcome, if they meet the engine size limits.

Along with the paved 600-km route, there will also be an optional gravel road section for riders mounted on dual sports. It was something riders requested in previous versions of the rally, and this year, it’s included for the first time.

As with previous versions of the rally, there will be both printed maps and GPS files available for the route. After the ride, there will be a banquet and awards presentation.

This year, there is a fee to attend, to cover the costs of organizing, scouting and managing the rally. The registration fee is $99 plus HST.

    • Exactly! Almost every manufacturer has street bikes under 500cc now. Ducati, KTM, Yamaha, Suzuki, H-D, Kawasaki, BMW, Honda and the numbers of models are almost staggering. These are no longer boring bikes and offer great riding value! We’d love to a Scrambler at the rally.

  1. I’m currently planning on being at the Canadian Vintage Motorcycle Rally in Paris, ON on that weekend. Hmmm. I wonder if I can swing both……
