Problem: Certain vehicles may not comply with Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 208 – Occupant protection in frontal impacts. The vehicle fails to provide an audible warning if the driver’s seatbelt is not buckled, contrary to the requirements of the standard. This could increase the risk that the driver remain unbelted, increasing the risk of injury in a crash.
