An Alberta man has been charged with a theft of over $100,000 from the Canadian arm of the Christian Motorcycle Association.
The Red Deer Advocate is reporting a local man has been charged with two counts of fraud over $5,000; uttering forged documents; trafficking in property obtained by crime; and possession of stolen property over $5,000.
The accused man worked for the CMA (one of Canada’s larger non-profit motorcyclists’ organizations) as an office administrator from 2013 to 2015. The investigation into the missing funds started back in 2016 when CMA noticed there were issues in the organization’s finances, and was conducted by the RCMP and FINTRAC.
