CSBK returns to TSN for 2017

CSBK is returning to TSN this year.

The Canadian Superbike series made a comeback on TSN last year after originally running on the channel from 1995 to 2010. Race broadcasts were also shown free on YouTube (and continued to be shown there after the racing returned to television in 2016).

Now, the race series is back again for 2017. Each of the seven races will be shown, and the race will be broadcast “as soon as the weekend following each national round,” according to CSBK’s press release.

Each broadcast will show the Pro Superbike race, taking a half hour. The Pro Sport Bike races will be shown online, but not on TSN. Support for the broadcasts comes in part from Dalton Timmis Insurance, Mopar, Motovan and Magneti Marelli.

This year’s major storylines will include the return of Jordan Szoke (BMW), who was unbeatable last season, winning not only the CSBK championship but also the BMW Motorrad Race Trophy. Ben Young (BMW) and Kenny Riedmann (Kawasaki) will be prominent challengers for the crown, and if former champ Brett McCormick makes a return as predicted, then things will get very, very interesting, if he has a competitive bike.

  1. Please please tell me Fraser is not doing the colour commentary, please. Either that or could they limit him to uh, um I don’t know, maybe 5 million words per race.
