Suzuki releases Canadian pricing for GSX-R1000, other 2017 models

Suzuki has announced Canadian pricing for the 2017 GSX-R1000 and other new models.

This year’s biggest news for Suzuki is the new litrebikes. The new-for-2017 GSX-R1000 is now priced at $18,399, and the upgraded GSX-R1000R is priced at $21,899. For reference, the other big new-for-2017 litrebikes came from Honda; the new Honda CBR1000RR is priced at $19,999, and the upgraded CBR1000RR SP is priced at $23,999 in Canada. Suzuki’s flagship litrebike is rated around 199 hp, and the Hondas are rated around 189 hp.

So, it’s looking like Suzuki continues to offer good value for money in sportbikes.  Other incoming models with new price tags are the GSX-750S ($9,199), the GSX-S750Z ($9,399) and the GW250-based GSX250R ($4,699).

The V-Strom 1000 is now selling for $13,499; the V-Strom 1000XT is $14,099. The updated V-Strom 650 is $9,399, and the V-Strom 650XT is $10,199.

The VanVan 200 is priced at $4,599; that’s a bit of a surprise, considering the DR200, which has the same motor and still uses a carburetor, is sitting at the $4,999 mark, and the VanVan is new to the lineup.

    • New Honda look better.. but in technology and performance only a comparative test will tell the winner in the 1 liter bike.

  2. The only good news I see out of this is the vanvan coming to Canada. Prices are way out of whack and trying to anchor them to Honda’s absurd pricing is itself an absurd strategy. I hope that was you guys trying to justify it rather than Suzuki. If it’s suzuki’s argument, they better have some deep deep discounts prepared cuz those bikes won’t move at those prices!

    They do say “a high tide floats all boats” but I’m not buying it.
