Report: Honda CBR250RR will hit 100 mph mark

We’ve been told the Honda CBR250RR isn’t coming to Canada this year, and that’s too bad; it looks like fun, judging from this video review from TMC Blog.

Even though we don’t speak Indonesian, the video above has useful annotations that give the bike’s performance figures. The journo riding says the machine’s top speed is 166 km/h, which certainly eclipses the old single-cylinder CBR250 we had in this market a couple years ago.

Which leads us to the following question: Is Big Red working on a 300-class version of this bike, and if so, will we see it in Canada?

A 300 cc version of this bike would make a lot of sense, as a big-bored CBR250RR would finally give Honda a small-capacity sportbike capable of facing off with Kawasaki’s Ninja 300 and Yamaha’s R3, as the current CBR300R trails behind them in performance. An upsized version of the quarter-litre twin might be just the ticket to put Honda back in contention.

  2. They should make a 300 version if they don`t want to stay behind the competition although the actual 300 R is a good option for the price especially as they often have interesting discounts on leftovers.
