KTM recall

Recall #: 2016610
Models Involved: 2013-2016 KTM 1190 Adventure, 2013-2016 KTM 1190 Adventure R, 2015-2016 KTM Super Adventure
Number of Vehicles:
1066
Problem: On certain motorcycles, an electrical connection can be created via the brake line between the anti-lock brake (ABS) modulator and vehicle ground. If the wiring harness is frayed and contacts the ABS modulator, there is a potential for the brake line to conduct electricity, causing overheating and ultimately melting the brake line.
Correction:  Dealers will inspect the wiring harness and re-position the wiring harness for the engine control unit.

  1. The kind of thing that makes me cringe when I think of buying a European bike (which I do)

I know the Japanese sometime have issues as well but I feel chances are still much better with them for rock solid reliability!
