Gossip: Matt Damon, Liam Neeson teaming up on Isle of Man film

New Hollywood gossip has Matt Damon and Liam Neeson collaborating with director Ben Younger on a new film about the Isle of Man TT.

Details on the rumoured project are scarce, but the movie will not be the typical documentary fodder that comes out of the TT. Instead, it’s said to be an action movie, with fictional plot. Damon will star as a racer coming out of retirement for the classic event, and his racing shots will be filmed with Cameron Donald (pictured) in the saddle, says MoreBikes.

MoreBikes also claims Honda is involved; no doubt Big Red would be more than happy to grab some TT headlines, given its lack of success in recent years with the previous-gen Fireblade. With the new CBR1000RR coming out for 2017, the timing has never been better for some product placement.

Filming is supposed to start next June, but supposedly, Younger has been working on this project for several years now. Let’s hope he does the TT justice.

  1. As long as it doesn’t try to be the fast and furious, or go with cheesy mission impossible bike stunts, it could turn out to be an interesting flick. (Even if Matt Damon is in it)

  2. Let’s just hope it’s not going to be a remake of “Herbie goes to Monte Carlo” with Carrot Top riding a magic Sportster winning the TT.

    • Well the headline does say “gossip” and the first paragraph does say “gossip” and the second paragraphs says “rumoured.” We could say “allegedly” in every sentence, but that invariably gets one of the other crusty buggers on here all worked up …
