In case you wondered, Dougie Lampkin nailed his IOMTT wheelie.
Last weekend, Red Bull sponsored Lampkin’s attempt to wheelie around the Isle of Man’s Mountain Circuit; viewers were able to actually watch the event live, unless you were off hooning around on your own motorcycle (which you should have been — the Canadian riding season will end soon!).
You can catch Lampkin’s entire stunt here, but be warned, it’s a two-hour program.
What’s next for Lampkin? He’s likely back off to the world of trials riding, but now he’s potentially started something interesting. It would be unsurprising, to say the least, if Guy Martin took a stab at this himself in coming months …

Looks like he’s concentrating pretty hard. Now maybe try without the pegs on the rear axle and a motor in the front hub to keep it spinning for gyroscopic stability. But then again, trials has always been about coming up with contrived and pointless challenges.
