In case you needed a reminder of what it looks like, BMW has released another video of its upcoming G310R.
The G310R, of course, is BMW’s made-in-India solution to a problem facing all motorcycle manufacturers: How to make its wares more affordable? As predicted, it’s coming to Canada at a price point that’s comparable to the beginner bike offerings from the Japanese OEMs.
Currently, the BMW Motorrad Canada website says the G310R will carry a $5,250 MSRP here. For reference, the Kawasaki Ninja 300 sells for $5,099, the Honda CB300F sells for $4,999, and the Yamaha R3 carries a $4,999 price tag.
Those prices usually vary over the course of a year, as most manufacturers offer some sort of rebate or discount on their bikes, but for now, it appears BMW’s machine will become a viable option for starting riders with strapped budgets.
So the quality will have to be up to a certain standard if it is called a BMW. Then the service costs at BMW shops could be a factor. Time will tell the story on these…
Never mind that, where’s the G310GS?
Have patience, Grasshopper, its coming. 🙂
The product people did their homework. Good to see the price is competitive! Nice gateway into the motorad family!
Good work BMW.
Where is it made?
I’m pretty sure the ‘Japanese machines’ aren’t even made in Japan…
In India by TVS and the competition is not made in Japan or Europe either.
