Video supposedly teases new Honda CBR250RR

For some time now, we’ve heard rumours and talk of a new Honda CBR250RR. Now, Asian moto-spies at the TMC blog claim they have a teaser video that proves it will be unveiled soon — see above.

The idea is, Honda’s supposedly working on a higher-performance quarter-litre machine to grab the more speed-hungry buyers, as its existing entry-level CBR300 is a bit pedestrian when compared to the competition (Kawasaki Ninja 300, KTM 390 Duke, Yamaha R3). Kawasaki already explored this idea of two levels of beginner bikes, by developing a single-cylinder Ninja 250 for some markets.

However, given the lack of basic information in the video above, we aren’t sure it confirms anything at all.

If the CBR250RR really is coming soon, there is no guarantee it will come to Canada anyway, and it is highly unlikely to echo the performance levels of previous sporting 250s from Big Red, be they V-twins or inline fours
