We know the BMW G310R is coming to Canada soon (it’s on their website), but how much will it cost? A British dealership has given us a hint.
Visordown is reporting a dealership in the UK is taking £100 deposits for the new entry-level Beemer, with the bike available there Oct. 1 (we don’t know Canadian availability yet). It’s priced at £4,290, which at today’s exchange rate sits around $7,500 CAD.
While that sounds a bit pricey, consider two things. First, there’s no guarantee Canadian pricing will directly reflect UK pricing — we may see lower (or higher!). Second, in the UK, that MSRP means the G310 will be less costly than several other beginner bikes. In that market, that price tag will undercut the Yamaha MT-03, the Kawasaki Z300, and the KTM 390 Duke, meaning BMW is introducing a bike that’s beginner-friendly where it often matters the most: The price tag.
[…] Although we’re not 100 per cent sure on Canadian MSRP, initial reports seem to indicate BMW wants to compete with Japanese bikes on entry-level […]
They are blowing last years cbr300’s out the door here for $3500 new.
Knowing what BMW charges for service, they could give the bike away and have you sign a contract to have it fixed there for life.
If their strategy is to undercut the competition in the UK then I don’t see why they wouldn’t do the same here. So I would expect something close to 4999 or even less.
Anyway BMW is a stranger to that costumer base, they need attractive pricing to get them in the door…
Well it was 4,290 quid 🙁
With the Ninja 300 ABS sitting at $5799 MSRP, one would expect the G310R to be priced competitively with that, just like in the U.K. I would guess between $5000-$5499. With 34 hp at the rear wheel (5 down on the Ninja), and one less cylinder, this would be a hard sell at the same prices as the Ninja. The Honda CBR300F sells for $4999 and seems to be a closer competitor to the G310R.
It better, or its D.O.A….
