The World Superbike circus descended on Donington Park this weekend, with Tom Sykes making the best of his return home to the UK.

Sykes (Kawasaki) won both races. Davide Giugliano (Ducati) managed a second in Race 1, and Sykes’ teammate Jonathan Rea was third. Chaz Davies (Ducati), who’s been a consistent podium threat all season, had a terrible race, earning a DNF after crashing twice.

Davies made up for that performance in Race 2, as he was third, behind Sykes and Rea.

The pair of wins has drastically improved Sykes’ position in the standings, getting him past Davies. While Rea maintains a respectable lead over his teammate, Sykes could now make a challenge for first, with a bit of luck.
