Triumph has invited some of the Euro media to the launch for their not-for-Canada Tiger Sport, which means a few specs have leaked out.
According to Visordown, the new bike (powered by the three-cylinder 1050 cc engine from the Speed Triple) puts out 126 hp at 9,475 rpm, and 78.1 lb-ft of torque at 7,000 rpm, with mid-range power up five per cent (hrrrrrm?) and torque up four per cent. Dry weight is 218 kg.
Seat height is 830 mm, fuel capacity is 20 litres, and it’s available in the UK in black or silver paint, with a £10,300 MSRP. There will also be dozens of factory accessories available for the machine when it comes to market.
But, as we said earlier, it’s not available for love or money in Canada. That may change, as it does occasionally with some Euro models, but we haven’t been told to expect a 2017 release.
I agree pBrasseur. This looks like a perfect all around machine that would slot in very well against it’s competition. I emailed Triumph and they unfortunately have no plans to bring this to Canada. Curses.
Ouch this is cruel 😉
Again it sound like the perfect machine, agile but comfortable, quality finish, most of the practical features (did not see a centerstand though), up to date technologically and plenty of usable power, the new triple should be a lot of fun, but not scary powerful like the BMW XR or the Super Duke GT. Less weird than the Multistrada. Also for my taste the bike looks nice and would probably age well. Good design and sound engineering, way to go Triumph! I also understand that their new Truxton and Bonneville are quite well made, that company is on a roll and should be interesting to follow in coming years (if the marketing department does not screw up…)
I can’t believe Triumph will not sell this thing in Canada or the US, makes no sense at all and for that reason I also expect a change of mind…
