The MotoGP circus is back in the US of A, with the Austin GP running this weekend.
The media conference runs Thursday, and then practice kicks off Friday when Moto3 takes to the track at 11 AM.
The favourite here probably has to be Marc Marquez, who’s won every GP ever at Austin (2013-2015), and also taken pole at each race. He’s in the overall point lead right now (41 points to Valentino Rossi’s 33), and another win here would cement his reputation at the track, and also give him a very comfortable margin of safety, at least for now.
Marquez and the Yamaha riders are all sandbagging right now, saying their bikes aren’t really set up to do well at Circuit of the Americas. Ducati’s Andrea Dovizioso, on the other hand, says he’s “ready to fight things out on this fantastic track,” and Suzuki’s Maverick Vinales says he’s “eager to get to some deserved results.” Maybe we’ll see Ducati and Suzuki finally gain some ground on the big factories this weekend?
The actual MotoGP race runs Sunday around 4 PM (Central Time). Moto3 runs at 1 PM, Moto2 runs at 2:20 PM.
