Miguel DuHamel to race Bol D’Or classic

Legendary Canadian roadracer Miguel DuHamel is dusting off his leathers to race at September’s Bol D’Or Classic in France. DuHamel retired in 2009 after a career that included becoming the first Canadian to win an AMA superSport title in 1995 – going on to win six consecutive times.

He’ll be joined by Quebec journalist Didier Constant (editor of motoplus.ca) who has somewhat impressively managed to convince DuHamel to head to France where the two will ride as the DCT Racing Team in the event.

The idea of the Classic is to pair up a professional and amateur in order to ensure that no-ne runs away with the victory, riding for four hours split over two days. The other main rule is that the bike must be built before 1991, the duo opting to ride Honda’s venerable RC30.

  1. Way to go Miguel. Strange that they race only four hours over two days though. Speaking of the RC30. Honda should put some of those VFR1200 engines they seem to have laying around into an exact replica of the RC30, maybe add abs and the latest in fork tech and call it a day. I’d buy one seeing that no one can find or afford an RC anyway.
