Erik Buell Racing shipping replacement parts, working on new plans

EBR has come a long way in the last couple years, especially when you consider Erik Buell's abrupt parting with Harley-Davidson.

After its recent acquisition by Liquid Asset Partners, Erik Buell Racing once again working on keeping its customers happy, and planning for the future.

EBR owners were likely a bit nervous after the company announced bankruptcy last spring. The bikes weren’t cheap, and keeping them on the road was bound to be difficult if parts weren’t available. But now, reports indicate the company is once again shipping replacement parts to owners and also working on new models.

LAP says they consider themselves “brand stewards.” In other words, EBR is still for sale, they’re just keeping the lights on (sort of) until that happens. But despite the brand’s uncertain future, they’re still working on new models, their press release says: “Along with production initiating on RX and SX, new segment busting models that deliver Erik’s unique vision are on the drawing board. The new company has many assets and is ready to expand rapidly.

Word on the street was that Bruce Belfer, the New Jersey-based businessman who made a bid for the brand last summer and almost succeeded, was still interested in purchasing EBR and its assets, and there are likely other sharks circling the water as well. With a Zombie Motorcycle Brand, there’s always interest, even if it’s just for rights to T-shirt logos.
