Victory confirms Project 156 will end up as a production model, sort of

Last spring, when Victory built their Project 156 racebike and rode it at the Pikes Peak International Hillclimb, they said it signified a new future for their company, with sporting intentions. Now, that future is drawing close.

Today, Victory announced a production version of the motor used in Project 156. Details on that motor are scant, but their press release says “The liquid-cooled four-valve engine has a 60-degree vee angle, utilizing double overhead cams that promise to make class-leading power.” It’s 1200 cc in capacity.

They’ve built a concept bike using the motor, the Ignition, on display at EICMA this week. It was built in conjunction with European custom builder Urs Erbacher.  You can see some of the bike’s specs below. It’s obviously inspired by their Project 156 racebike, but it’s not as lean and mean. This machine is just a concept as well, though, so we might see something more svelte come out yet.
