Circuit of the Americas suffers storm damage

The Circuit of the Americas, North America’s only stop for the MotoGP circus, has taken a beating from the weather.

The track (situated in Austin, Texas) posted photos of storm damage to their website after a severe rain storm last week. Although grandstands, buses, concession stands, portable modular buildings and some other infrastructure were banged up or destroyed, there are no photos of damage to the track itself.

The photos do show some flooding damage around the area of Turn 2, including a collapsed wall and a flooded tunnel, which hint at possible future repairs. However, we’re sure the track will be fully functional for next April’s GP, particularly since there is a lot of other stuff going on at COTA besides MotoGP.
