Canadian paraplegic lands backflip during stunt show

Bruce Cook, a freestyle motocrosser from British Columbia, has become the first paraplegic in history to land a back flip on a motorcycle.

Cook, a former X Games competitor, was paralyzed from the waist down after a 2014 crash;  he was attempting a world-first double front flip in a Hamilton freestyle motocross stunt show.

Last week, Cook was riding in a Nitro Circus show in Toronto and pulled off a back flip in front of the audience — a first-ever for a paraplegic. An impressive feat, for sure!

Cook was riding within months of his injury, on a modified dirt bike. He’s accompanying Nitro Circus on their current tour; their next Canadian show date is Oct. 28, in Winnipeg.
