The Ride Must Go On series, the latest in the constantly-growing list of self-filmed works coming out of the ADV scene, shows just how far we’ve come in the last 20 years.
Twenty years ago this summer was when Austin Vince and the other mad adventurers of Mondo Enduro set out on their world-circling ride, self-filming (If you haven’t seen the movie, you should). That film was entertaining, it was a completely unheard-of adventure at the time, but it was also pretty rough around the edges.
Compare the footage there to what you see below. Today’s digital camera technology has progressed so far, and the images are so beautiful, that we’re potentially entering a golden age of motorcycle adventure films — as long as the world doesn’t keep shrinking, leaving us nowhere to ride and get lost.
I know those who can ride and those who can make good films. Tolga is the only one I know who does both so well.
Very pretty videography for sure.
Can adventure riding make the world a better place?”
I think it can.
Bloody ‘ell…one more reason to pitch it all!!
