Here’s a trailer we ran across on Vimeo this week, teasing an upcoming documentary on Erik Buell Racing.
What the final product will look like is hard to say, given the news last week that EBR is filing for bankruptcy protection, and the plant is shutting down operations for now. The trailer for the film, titled The Ragged Edge, promises a documentary combining “the power, excitement, and tension of motorcycle racing from the point of view of teams in the pits with the equally powerful stories of a company trying to make it through a financial maelstrom and the personal survival stories of working families in America’s heartland.”
This trailer was released yesterday. Does that mean the filmmakers were blindsided by EBR’s announcement, or are they planning to detail the company’s current dire straits? We’ll know more when the doc is finished, but the first scenario seems more likely. See the trailer below.

Too bad he hadn’t of partnered with BRP or Polaris. I think it would have made for a far better and successful collaboration.
Well, if nothing else, EBR’s demise leaves the door wide open for Hero to come into North America without be responsible for any of Buell’s outstanding business. Twenty million buys them the existing facilities and away they go. Did the film makers know about any of this ? Unlikely…
