Marc Marquez suffers broken finger

The top teams of MotoGP are looking for every edge they can find.

MotoGP world champion Marc Marquez has injured his hand in a training accident.

Marquez was training on a dirt track last week when he crashed, fracturing his little finger on his left hand. He underwent surgery to repair the damage on Saturday.

The question now is, will Marquez race at Jerez this weekend? The injured pinky wouldn’t hamper Marquez as much as one of his other fingers, but Honda hasn’t confirmed his attendance; their official press release says “His participation in the Spanish Grand Prix has not been ruled out.”

We should know more soon. Marquez is sure to want to put points on the board after getting a goose egg in Argentina due to his crash, but Honda might feel it’s better to keep him safe in order to rack up points later in the season.
