Spied! Triumph Speed Triple

British magazine Visordown has published photos of what appears to be an updated Triumph Speed Triple.

The photograph supposedly originated at a road test somewhere in Spain, although we don’t know who snapped it.

There are several superficial changes evident (new seat, new bodywork, upgraded front brakes, new gas tank), but no word on changed mechanical bits.

There is a scoop buried in the flyscreen that looks like it may deliver ram air for a horsepower upgrade, but otherwise, we haven’t heard of any motor changes.

There’s been no official confirmation of a new Speed Triple. However, this isn’t the first time spy shots of such a rig have been floating around the Internet, and Hinkley is sure to be keen to keep up with their European competition. Bikes like the new water-cooled Ducati Monster and Aprilia’s ever-faster Tuono lineup mean Triumph has to stay sharp to stay in the game, and this Speed Triple is likely part of that plan.

  1. Looks better than the current one, and all speed triples should be black with gold forks.

I LOVED the one I bought in 2005 from Kingston. I’ve never owned a bike that had strangers at gas stations stroll over to look and compliment the looks. Suspension was a bit still for the local roads but the glorious rush of acceleration and sound made up for it.
