CBS is reporting the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is investigating the cause of two separate fires that involved Can-Am Spyders.

According to the article, a police officer in Morgantown, Virginia, had his Spyder catch fire while using it on duty; not only did the vehicle quickly burn, it also torched a couple trees and a yard. There was also another blaze involving a Spyder in California’s Mojave desert that caught the attention of the NHTSA, which has caused the investigation.

As CBS reports, there were three previous Spyder recalls centred on the risk of fires; in 2012 and 2013, there were recalls over brake fluid leaks, gas caps and a vent hose.
