Like we told you last week, registration is now open for CMG’s Dawn 2 Dusk Rally. But what if you don’t have an eligible bike? Well, maybe it’s time to buy one.
In case you don’t know what the Dawn 2 Dusk is, it’s CMG’s small-bike rally (used to be 250 cc or less, now it’s 500 cc or less) that traditionally runs at the end of the season. We’ve moved it to August this year, to avoid conflict with the Fundy Adventure Rally. Riders will do 600 kms of fun back roads in 12 hours; this year, it’s based in New Brunswick. In the past, almost everyone rode a stripped-down quarter-litre bike; there aren’t a lot of tourers in the 250 segment. But with the added displacement allowed this year, think of the possibilities! Why, you could buy a bike like this Silverwing, and cruise in comfort all day. Add a coffee cup holder, and kick back while you listen to the stereo built in to your Windjammer, as long as your stator holds up. And hey, if you break down, you can always carry a full tool kit in those sidebags.
