Do you like hacks? We’re not talking about shoddy journalists, we’re talking about sidecar rigs.

If you are a fan of the three-wheeled life, then you should check out the Going Sideways rally, a shindig for sidecar enthusiasts that runs in Ontario again this year. You don’t actually have to own a sidecar to attend, so if your wife won’t let you buy one because she thinks they look dorky, show up anyway …

The rally runs July 25-27 this year, and is open to all sidecars, no matter what make or model, although the event is run by the Canadian Sidecar Owners Club in association with Ural Canada and CURD (Canadian Ural Dnepr Riders association). The word on the street says one of the new fuel-injected Urals (say it ain’t so!) will be there, if you’re curious about Mother Russia’s latest three-wheeled flagship.

This year’s event runs just outside Peterborough, in Ennismore. The rally will have the standard lineup of events – BBQ, group ride, camping, contests, etc., with a full lineup of events to be announced in the future. You can find more details at the rally’s website here; if this is an idea that sounds so fun you just want them to shut up and take your money, you’re in luck! Registration has just opened …
