Ducati tests at Mugello

In their downtime before this weekend’s Le Mans race, Ducati’s MotoGP factory team dropped by the Mugello circuit for a little track action. Results were a bit mixed.

Andrea Dovizioso ended up crashing during testing, after losing the front on Turn 4. He was unharmed, and said he was happy that his times were better than last year’s, although without any competition, those numbers don’t mean as much. He said he felt bad for his mechanics, who have extra work ahead of them to prepare for the weekend.

Cal Crutchlow, who was openly unhappy with his team’s performance after the Jerez race, seems to have calmed down a bit, saying “We went back towards the base setting of the Ducati and it felt a bit more comfortable. It was a good working day with quite good weather so we are happy to leave here confirming the direction for Le Mans and looking forwards to the weekend.”
