Marc Marquez will miss the upcoming Malaysian MotoGP test due to a fractured leg.
Marquez, the 2013 MotoGP champ and a favourite for a 2014 repeat, broke his right fibula while practicing on a dirt track in Spain. It sounds as if it’s not a serious injury, but he’s going to miss a few weeks of action. Along with the Sepang test, he might also miss Philips Island.
Some racing fans might remember Nicky Hayden put a dent in his 2012 season when he crashed an XR100 while flat-tracking for practice, requiring surgery after he messed up his shoulder pretty good. It doesn’t sound as if Marquez will suffer the same fate, though; however, it might set his pace back just a bit in the pre-season tests. In the first Malaysian test, Marquez had been the fastest rider every day.
