Ducati made headlines by unveiling the new 899 Panigale last week, but there’s more on the way.

In an interview with Bloomberg news, Ducati CEO Claudio Domenicali said his company is planning to unveil four new motorcycles this year. One of those bikes is the 899, but the other three remain mysteries, although we can speculate.

Chances are, one of those bikes is the much-rumoured Scrambler. There’s been a lot of speculation that Ducati is reviving the Scrambler lineup (supposedly, they’ve already done some paperwork to secure the name). Originally, insiders were guessing the model would come back as as budget, entry-level machine. However, that’s not the company’s focus, Domenicali says.

In his interview, he told Bloomberg the firm was looking to build premium motorcycles, and they were “not looking for low cost and low capacity motorcycle.”

Ducati already has sport models, supermotos, adventure bikes, naked bikes and cruisers in their lineup, but they haven’t had any real throwback models for a while (remember the SportClassic?). A retro-styled bike with knobby tires might make a nice addition to their lineup … so that only leaves two other bikes to speculate about, if they’re bringing in four new models.
