Motorsports Canada is importing a couple new two-wheelers from Sym, the Mio 50 and the Citycom 300i.

The Mio 50 is built around a four-stroke motor.
The Mio 50 is built around a four-stroke motor.

The new Mio will be priced at $2,299; the Citycom will be priced at $3,999; these scooters will fill out Sym’s product lineup in Canada; along with the new 50 and the new 300, they have their existing HD200 scooter, the Symba (a Honda Cub clone) and the Wolf (a 150 cc motorcycle).

Motorsport Canada’s press release was a bit light on details, but from what we can gather online, it seems the Mio 50 is a four-stroke single-cylinder 49 cc motor (with ceramic coated cylinder), with CVT transmission, belt drive, and all the other normal trimmings you’d find on a scooter.

It’s supposed to weigh around 80 kg. There’s a 160 mm disc brake in front, and a drum brake in rear. Front and rear wheels are both 10-inchers.

The Citycom 300i has a liquid-cooled four-stroke 262 cc motor, with EFI. It has 260 mm disc brakes front and rear, and 16-inch wheels. Claimed top speed is around 130 kph, and like all Sym scooters in Canada (including the Mio), it’ll carry a two-year warranty.

  1. Sym gee , to quote the candain supplier when I asked 3 months , If we don’t sell a model , we ll not supply any parts. Basically means your SOL for old models . Beyond that would you trust a brand like that for futures parts supply on your 4 grand citycom ? Beyond that the dealer network so small you hard press to find anyone to supply parts . Nearest dealer in Vancouver BC is ether Vancouver Island or 2 hours away in Wa. Great scooters but in Canada crappy dealer network and supplier.
